When did I realize I had leadership in me?
It wasn’t in a meeting. Not even with a job title. It happened during an earthquake, Thailand’s first one. 28 Mar 2025. Around 30 minutes before the AMA with a Launchpad platform.
28 Mar, 2025. There was a Thailand's first earthquake.
Everyone froze and honestly, I was super panicked too. But I still spoke with a shaky voice and hands, I told everyone to get out.
Avoid tall buildings area. Stay safe. And I said, “Don’t go back to the office right now. Your life is worth more than everything in this office combined.” I didn’t plan to lead. I just cared enough to act. I took this video to show the team where I was standing and where I thought was safe. So they could follow me.
That’s when I knew—Leadership isn’t about being fearless.
It’s about loving people enough to move through the fear.
Even if your voice shakes. Even if your words aren’t perfect. I lead by making others feel safe. Because they belong. Because they matter. When things go wrong, we protect each other. When you’re tired or lost, just text me and I’ll remind you that you’ve got this. Leadership to me is love in action. It’s choosing to care. To show up. To be the soft strength in someone’s hardest moment.
That’s the kind of leader I am.
With love, Emily
